a quick stop for lunch gave us the choice between McDonalds, Subway, and Curry König. Guess which one Cris chose? However, check out the swanky McDonalds! McCafe is catching on in Germany. About an hour later we were at JediCon. Kim decided to go to bed early to try to beat the cold once and for all, so Cris went to the opening ceremonies with Daniel and Nina. The guests were not as star studded as in previous shows, but we were really not there for the "show". Some of the B list guests (the guy who handed the medals to Leia!?) seemed to want to outdo each other with their love of the German fans and all things German, "The German Star Wars fans are the BEST!" while at the same time wanting to let you know what thier favorite drink was in case you happened to bump into them in the bar... Jeremy Bulloch outclassed everyone though with a string of what sounded like absolutely perfect fluent German, before admitting that it was complete gibberish and that he just wanted to impress the other guests :) Daniel Logan was visibly excited too on his first visit to Germany. I hope he got to see more than just the hotel! (It's connected to the airport via a walkway) Robert Watts and Steve Sansweet were nice as always as well.
